empire The independent label, distributor, and publisher announced today has promoted senior music executive Tina Davis to president.
In his new role, Davis will continue to lead Empire’s A&R team and assist with the company’s strategic planning and day-to-day operations. Most recently, Davis served as the company’s senior vice president of A&R.
Prior to joining Empire, Davis was the first woman to lead Def Jam’s A&R department, working closely with Jay-Z, DMX, Method Man, and many other artists. After Def Jam, she worked closely with Chris Brown and was featured on Variety’s Impact Report Women’s and Dealmakers charts, as well as Billboard’s Women in Music and Hip-Hop/R&B Power Players charts. She is also working on Live Nation’s Femme It Forward initiative for young women and the Solano County School District she.
