Shakira and Manuel Turizo Share Weird New Video For ‘Empty Cup’


Shakira In her new music video for “Copa Vacía” she takes on the role of a sparkling mermaid with long, pink curls. Manual Turizo. The duet focuses on wanting more than a relationship that feels like drinking from an empty glass, while in the cinematic visual, Turizo rescues Shakira from the oceanside dump.

The video was directed by Shakira and longtime collaborator Jaume de la Iguana. “You’re always too busy,” Shakira sings to a reggaeton beat. “Drop your phone, use your hands with me/ I know you’re hot but I’m hotter. I’ve been thirsty for you for a while, I don’t know why.”

The single and video were released simultaneously on Thursday following weeks of teasers by the Colombian artist couple. Last week, they shared a sensual movie poster depicting Shakira as a pensive mermaid and Turizo as a handsome prince. In the caption they jointly wrote “We made a movie”.

The video was shown on MTV’s global channel network and on the Paramount billboard in Times Square.

“Copa Vacía” is a sequel to “Acrostico”, which Shakira dedicated to her children who appeared in the track’s matching music video.

Prior to that, Shakira released two collaborative works that propelled her to the top of the Billboard charts. In January, he and Bizarrap were on the fiery “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53”, which earned Shakira her fifth top 10 hit and her first hit since 2007’s “Beautiful Liar” with Beyoncé. He also took part in the track “TQG” in Karol G’s latest set that made history.

Shakira is said to be preparing for the release of her next album, but a release date has yet to be announced. He hasn’t released an album of original material since 2017’s “El Dorado,” which includes the hit “Chantaje” featuring Maluma.
