Tom Morello’s Commander Productions Partners With Asylum


Asylum Entertainment Group partners with the rocker Tom Morello For a first glance co-production deal with Morello’s startup Commander Productions, Variation can be revealed exclusively.

Morello’s Comandante Productions and Asylum aims to create a portfolio of documentary films and series that explore Morello’s history in the music industry, social awareness and commitment to activism.

Morello is, of course, best known for his work with Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, two bands that have sold over 30 million albums worldwide. He’s also a Grammy-winning artist and a recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominee (as part of this year’s class of honor).

“I’m always looking for new and exciting ways to combine revolutionary art with revolutionary ideas, to create pits for the mind, heart and soul,” Morello said in a statement. “[I am] I am very excited to partner with Asylum to bring some surprising stories to light.”

Alongside his collaboration with Asylum, Morello has additional projects in the works for Comandante Productions on various platforms. Morello and Comandante are represented by CAA and Vector Management.
